How am I going to wait 9 months for this book? Thanks to Lydia Kiesling for giving us such a delicious teaser, and thanks to you for sharing what's going on behind the curtain. Sending you all good vibes between now and publication day!
Okay that is very nice of you! I will send you a galley lol, but also the question is how am I going to wait 9 months for this book?? I could have a whole other kid in that time...
I’ve learned so much watching you go through this process, friend, and this post has taught me even more. Thank you for being so generous and honest with your experience.
The year before it hit the stands, I felt the same way I did when I was pregnant, being very careful and literally shaping my life around the launch date. That was a mistake. And it pretty much cost me the year after it was released because I needed a recovery period lol. I think you're doing the right things by playing with your kids, focusing on building community, and continuing to write. I wish I had done more of that.
You already know what I'm going to say: Focusing on the next book is the very best survival technique. That and stockpiling promo essays, because the closer the pub date gets, the busier you'll be with other stuff and those essays will weigh on you.
My neighbor Vinnie asks me every day when the book is coming out. Haven't even written it, honey!! Profoundly grateful to be on this journey with you.
we're working on it, Vinnie!!
